[Tfug] squid use host file for local lookups and not use external dns

How can I have squid for certain network ranges or ip addresses just do
redirect the request locally and not go to the Internet?

The example is we have our workstations configured for squid but someone at
company xyz just typed in http://xyzintranet.com  but squid goes to the
outside world dns?

If we have a host entry squid does not use that it just trys to go to the
outside dns servers.
