[Tfug] USB drive/MP3 combo on linux

I've been doing a little research myself vis-a-vis my earlier posting
about using the SD RAM [via USB] for my digital camera to store files on
a computer booting Knoppix. It would appear that there is some sort of
basic compatibility insofar as some flavors of the Sharp Zarus PDA run
linux and us SD RAM
[http://www.linuxdevices.com/articles/AT8728350077.html] Any number of
MP# players also use SD RAM. That said, I'm still a bit skittish since
the 'SD' = Secure Digital part of the equation seems to have been
dreamed up by the RIAA to slow down copyright infringement.

I'll be ordering a 256 mb chip and accompanying USB reader in the next
couple of days. Will report on success or failure.
