They were OK when I said Mac OS X ... But hopeless when I mentioned 'Airport
Base Station'.

I don't think its fair to expect a company paying people seven bucks an hour
to make them have Linux knowledge.  I've heard a lot of people doing phone
tech support (my starting point back in the day) nowadays barely even know
Windows.

Most folks that know the ins and outs of Linux have moved on to bigger ($$$)
and better ($$$) things.
